Children’s privacy
Our service is for adults and for parents or legal guardians arranging tutoring for their children. Children can’t create accounts, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian gives us only the minimum information we need about the learner, such as their first name and grade. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Background checks
Tutors who teach learners under 18 must pass a criminal background check and a sex offender registry search. These checks are only run with the tutor’s written authorization, through a consumer reporting agency, in line with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable state laws.
How we share information
- Tutors you are matched with receive the details they need to teach the learner.
- Service providers who process information for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database and bot protection), Resend (email delivery) and our background check provider.
- Legal and safety: when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
Your choices and rights
You can:

Residents of some states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others, have additional privacy rights under their state laws. We honor those rights where they apply, and we won’t treat you differently for using them.
